He was predeceased by: his parents, Frank Filips and Minnie Filips (Ausdemore); his wife Anna Mary; and his brothers, Arthur and Roman.
He is survived by: his sons, Roger (Ann), Art (Julie Filips), Paul (Cindy Filips) and Frank (Monique Filips); and also Alfred Filips of Bloomfield, NE.. He is also survived by nine grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting memorials be sent to the Boyd County Senior Center and/or the St. Mary's Altar Society.
