He was predeceased by: his parents, Edgar Schmiedt and Marie Schmiedt; and his brother Stan Schmiedt. He is survived by: his wife Arlene; his children, Lisa Beacom (Todd) of Papillion, NE and Michael Schmiedt; his fiancé Mandie Orr; his grandchildren, Kristin, Shelby, Brittney Schmiedt, Nicole, Jake Schmiedt, Brian Schmiedt, Taylor, Ben Beacom, Blake and Ella Schmiedt; and his sisters-in-law, Sherree Schmiedt, Elaine Hauger, Joyce Zavadil, Josephine Canfield (Steve) and Kristi Nyberg (Pat). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorials be directed to St. Michael's Parrish Center.
