He is survived by: his wife Robin; his children, Willie Whelchel (Angie) of Sturgis, SD, Tony Whelchel (Megan) of Paynesville, MN and Sue Broulik of Las Vegas, NV; and his siblings, Dorthy Abbott of Sioux City, IA, LaVonne Frank of Billings, MT, Shirley Freeman of Cedar Rapids, IA, Betty Beldin, Joan Chandler of Dakota City, Doug Whelchel (Jackie) of Newcastle, NE, Karen Nelson (Loy) of Maskell, NE and Sheryl Bostwick of Dakota City, NE. He is also survived by nine grandchildren; five great grandchildren.
