With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Ilona M. Stapleton of South Sioux City, Nebraska, born in Mapleton, Iowa, who passed away on January 30, 2022 at the age of 76. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Ernest McNeil and Marie McNeil (Houschilt); her husbands, Raymond Day and Clifford Stapleton; her grandson PJ; and her sister-in-law Marilyn McNeil.
She is survived by: her pet Gizmo; her children, Cindy Mares (Joe) of Sioux City and Corey Day (Amanda) of Sioux City; her stepson Shane Stapleton (Bobbi) of Dakota City, NE; her grandchildren, Robert, Tiffany (Bryan), Nicole, Shania, Amber, Brandon, Brittany, Tanner, Taylor, Jessica (Tyler), Joey (Isabell) and Tori; and her brother Byron McNeil. She is also survived by nine great grandchildren.
