He was predeceased by: his parents-in-law, Wilbur and Helen Sheffield; his sister Ruby Esslinger Nelson; and his siblings-in-law, Hugo Esslinger, Verlen Nelson, Kenneth Weber and Marilyn Jackson (Fred).
He is survived by: his spouse Detta M. Sheffield; his daughter Marsha Banzhaf (Galen) of Overton, Nebraska; his grandsons, Samuel and Alexander Banzhaf of Overton; his sister Elaine Weber of Kearney, Nebraska; and his siblings-in-law, Roland Sheffield (Jan) of Farnam, Nebraska and Sharon Peterson (Ron) of Ord, Nebraska. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
