He was predeceased by: his parents, Helen Hartzler and Raymond "Shorty" Hartzler; his parents-in-law, Armin and Minnie Onken; his sons, Alan and Mike Hartzler; his grandson Marcus Hartzler; and his pets, Rufus and Duke.
He is survived by: his wife Gladys Hartzler; his sister Phyllis Willis; his children, Brad Hartzler, Steve Hartzler (Angela) and Traci Brachtenbach (Larry); and his daughters-in-law, Mickie Hartzler and Lori Hartzler. He is also survived by 8 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
