He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward Meier and Anna Meier (Von Seggern); his daughters, Carol and Cheryl; his brothers, Edgar, Donald and Daryl; his siblings-in-law, Merna, Clara, Jean, Maurice Sunderman (Shirley) and Raymond Sunderman; and his nephews, Mervill Meier, Gary Meier, Dean Meier, Ed Bivens and Stan Sunderman.
He is survived by: his children, Barbara (Paul Miklos) and Virgil (Debi Meier); his wife Marilyn Sunderman; his grandchildren, Kelly McCormick, Jamie Lopez, Theo Meier, Sam, Maggie Meier and Jake Meier; his great grandchildren, Jaiden, Aaron, Ava, Alaina and Joshua; and his sister-in-law Marian Sunderman. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers memorials will be given to organizations for the cure or learning to live with blindness.
