He was predeceased by: his parents, Harve Talhelm and Ora Talhelm; his wife Beatrice Helen Schumacher; his siblings, Victor Talhelm (Lydia) and Dorothy Paustian (Bud); and his parents-in-law, Alfons, Catherine Schumacher, Maynard Schumacher, Walt Schumacher, Rita Straub and Betty Passard.
He is survived by: his children, Thomas Talhelm (Cindy), Becky Rezac (Robert) and Shirley Garrett (Jeff); and his grandchildren, Matt Talhelm (Tena), Kasey Talhelm, Dustin Rezac (Jamie), Kevin Garrett (Jenny), Elise Rezac, Brandon Garrett, Jordan Garrett and Mason Talhelm.
Memorial contributions may be made in Shorty's name to Sacred Heart Catholic Church or the local DAV Chapter.
