Ronald J. Alfs Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Ronald J. Alfs of Shickley, Nebraska, who passed away on April 12, 2025, at the age of 89, leaving to mourn family and friends. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Ronald J. Alfs to pay them a last tribute.
He was predeceased by: his parents, John Alfs and Erma Alfs (Ketchum); his siblings, Mary Gay (Al), Kenneth Eddy and Viola Ann; and his daughter-in-law Marti Alfs.
He is survived by: his wife Merrill Faye Larson; his children, Jackie Pope (Patrick) of Columbus, Judy Smith (Dave) of Graford, TX, Bryan Alfs (Kari Jo), Tim Alfs (Jody) of Shickley and Nancy Alfs-Caballero (Victor) of Calca, Peru; and his grandchildren, Michael Pope (Amy), Erin Welsh (Matthew), Mitchell Pope (Maggie), Nicholas Bedlan (Ashley), Amanda Pfeil (Nathan), John Alfs, Regan Alfs, Adam Alfs, Abby Alfs, Megan Erickson (Josh) and Emily Votipka (Andrew). He is also survived by 27 great grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, April 16th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Farmer & Son Funeral Home (242 N 10th St, Geneva, NE 68361). A funeral service was held on Thursday, April 17th 2025 at 10:30 AM at the United Methodist Church (611 Swartzendruber Dr, Shickley, NE 68436).
Memorials are suggested to the Shickley United Methodist Church, Shickley Community Foundation, or the York General Dialysis Center.
