He was predeceased by: his parents, Alvin Lichti and Ruth Lichti; his parents-in-law, Roy and Barbara Kempf; and his siblings-in-law, Roine (Ivan Birky), Bernice Steider and Wayne (Esther Kempf).

He is survived by: his wife Edna Faye Kempf of Shickley; his brother Richard (Wilma) of Geneva; his sons, Dr. Douglas (Gayle) of Omaha and Timothy (Judy) of Shickley; his grandchildren, Kristin (Dave Kaiser), Brandon Lichti (Michelle), Sara (Forrest Schaeffer), Erin (Van VanderSchaaf), Kate (Caleb Hendrickson) and Anna (Lane Baker); and his brother-in-law Lowell Steider of Geneva. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
