We are sad to announce that on November 23, 2023, at the age of 89, Fred J. Richter of Shelby, Nebraska passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by : his parents, Carl Fredrich and Lola Richter (Walford); his grandparents, Chelsea Gerber, Kira, Krysten, Michael Darling, Blake, Lydia Darling and Emma Lambert; and his wife Janet Maureen Knight.

He is survived by : his children, Mike Darling (Sandra) of Cedaredge, CO, Laura Federico (Joe) of Omaha, Janna Ainsworth (Tim) of Seward and Lesley Hiemer (Tim) of Chapman; his grandchildren, Jenee Livingston (Jason), Fred, Jo Ainsworth, Jacob Ainsworth (Skylr), Tanner Hiemer (Delanie), Terryn Gress (Keith) and Ashley Gerber; his great grandchildren, Ember, Ashlynn Frerichs, Felix Vanmiddlekoop and Mason Gress; his nephew Terry Richter; his pet Punky; and also VanOrnam. He is also survived by other relatives and friends.
