He was predeceased by: his parents, Ernest Rieger and Esther Rieger (Rurup); his son Kenneth Rieger; his great grandchild Dustin Pane; and his brother-in-law Maynard Petersen.
He is survived by: his wife LaDean Rieger of Utica, NE; his children, Michael (Cindy Rieger) of Edgar, NE, Jolene (Michael Franks) of Utica, NE and Chris (Tammie Rieger) of Utica, NE; his grandchildren, Heath (Jessi), Nathan (Lauren), Anthony Rieger, Jake Franks (Sheila), Melissa Gulizia (Mat) and Katy Boman; his great grandchildren, Layla, Bianka, Kaelin and Abigail; his great great grandchildren, Bentley and Lillian; and his sisters, Ernestine Von Bargen (Ken) and Faye Petersen.
