He was predeceased by: his parents, Cleo Owens and Constance Owens (Pariset); his parents-in-law, Theodore and Irene Hischke; and his brother-in-law Delmar Borchers.
He is survived by: his wife Wanda Owens of Seward, Nebraska; his children, Mark Owens (Elizabeth) of Seward, Jennifer Owens of Seward, Melissa Schuman (Bill) of Marysville and Matthew Owens (Lisa) of Seward, Nebraska; his grandchildren, Jordan Owens (Kim), Kate Pittack (Blake), Jason Owens (Rebecca), Sasha Imig (Lee), Tara Bell, Mikhail Guenther, Abby Wetzel (Brandon), Kyle Schuman, Zach Owens (Allee), Jessica Malander (Tom) and Amanda Heinicke (Carl); and his siblings, Ruth Borchers and Kenny Owens (Sharon). He is also survived by 20 great grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, January 1st 2025 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Volzke Funeral Home (147 Main St, Seward, NE 68434). A funeral service was held on Thursday, January 2nd 2025 at 10:30 AM at the St. John Lutheran Church (919 N Columbia Ave, Seward, NE 68434).
