It is with great sadness that we announce the death of James Wilbur Winney of Seward, Nebraska, who passed away on November 30, 2022, at the age of 79, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Wilbur Winney and Virginia Winney (LaRue). He is survived by: his wife Karen Winney of Seward, Nebraska; his daughters, Sara Jane Martin (Ross) of Penryn and Laura Sue Winney (Dave Christensen) of Lincoln, California; his stepdaughter Lucy Faith (Rick); his granddaughters, Monica and Melissa Martin; his stepgrandchildren, Beverly-Ann and Morgan Faith; his brother David Winney (Kathryn) of San Antonio, Texas; and his niece Allison Winney.

“Jim was a great person! ARRL Nebraska Section Assistant Emergency Coordinator for many years. Many long talks on the phone that I will surely miss. Jim was a long time member of LARC and would volunteer for many of the events each year. Jim loved driving and talking on the radio and listening to his music. Jim loved coming to the LARC Club Meetings and sharing a story or two with many. Jim will be missed by the amateur radio world and his many friends! RIP, Jim, KØMXE/SK”
