He was predeceased by: his parents, Victor Deinert and Marie Deinert (Schroeder); and his siblings, Harvey, Vera Herter and Alice Schumacher.

He is survived by: his wife Verna Deinert; his children, Jean (Ron Petsch), Milford, Donna (Brad Havener), Melvin (Linda Deinert), Emerald and JoAnn (Bob Boshart); his grandchildren, Justine Petsch, Cody (Jamie Havener), Calvin Havener, Scott (Megan Deinert) and Melinda Deinert; and his great grandchildren, Hudson Deinert and Jaden Schulz.
