He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph M. Kaup and Elizabeth Kaup (Stieren); his parents-in-law, Leonard and Camilla Schmuecker; his siblings, Jo Ann Peterson (Larry), Donald Kaup and Erwin Kaup; his brother-in-law Kenny Schmuecker; and his son Nathan Kaup.
He is survived by: his spouse Connie Schmuecker; his children, Lori Beale (Scott) of Firestone, CO, Joe of Hemingford, Jason (Alisha) of Cozad and Jeremy (Jamie) of Kasson, MN; his grandchildren, Kaitlyn Beale, Chandler, Tanner, Tenley, Landon and Lincoln Kaup; his sisters, Anna Goeken (Leo) of Stanton and Monica Tomka (Dennis) of Howells; and his brother-in-law David Schmuecker (Linda) of West Point.
Memorials may be made to the Snyder Lions Club or St. Leo's Catholic Cemetery.
