She was predeceased by: her parents, George Wamboldt and Mollie Wamboldt (Herman); her husband Dave Schaffer Jr.; and her siblings, Marlyn Ruff (George) and Willard Wamboldt (Eleanor).
She is survived by: her sons, Ron of Scottsbluff, Dennis of Torrington, WY and Vern (Dallas) of Scottsbluff; her grandchildren, Steven, Nicholas, Brandon, Greg Schaffer, Morgan Gardner and Jason Dutton; her siblings, Ruth, Jim (Jean), Larry (Marty) and Les (Sharon); and her close friends, Darlene Briggs, Mary Lou Feagler and Gladys Kilner. She is also survived by 12 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family respectfully requests that in lieu of flowers, memorials in Verna's honor may be made in care of the family to be designated at a later time.
