He was predeceased by: his parents, Ralph Hopkins and Iva May Morey Hopkins; his former wife Mary Hope; and his daughter Lynn Hope. He is survived by: his wife Margaret; his son Larry Hopkins (Christi); and his stepchildren, Michael Grant, Teresa Jepsen (Chris) and Sheryl Garnick (Jared). He is also survived by nine grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
