It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Harley Buford Carter of Scottsbluff, Nebraska, born in Littlefield, Texas, who passed away on December 28, 2023, at the age of 84, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Clark Carter and Corda Carter; his siblings, Kenneth, Joy Hughes and Judy Janzen; his in-laws, Roger and Cosetta Gruhlkey; his siblings-in-law, Charles Neal, Roger Gruhlkey and Gale Bennett; and his great-nephew Andersen Gruhlkey.
He is survived by: his wife Mary Gruhlkey Carter; his sons, Kurt Carter (Kim) of North Platte, NE, Keith Carter (Katie) of Alliance, NE and Bart Carter (Jean) of Bentonia, MS.; his brother Roy Dale Carter (Linda); his siblings-in-law, Herman Janzen, Carolyn Mills (Jordan), Billie Neal, Dale Gruhlkey (Carol) and Neal Bennett; his friend Anselmo Resendiz (Connie); and his nephew Jimmy Carter. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that contributions be made to the Harrisburg, Nebraska (Banner County) Volunteer Fire Department in memory of Buford Carter.
