He was predeceased by: his parents, Alva Gage and Myrtle Shiers (Winchell); his sons, Dan and Louie Shiers; and his siblings, Dick, Arnie, Donnie, Clifford, Shorty, Keith and Becky.

He is survived by: his wife Loretta Shiers; his daughter Tina Anderson (Bill); his daughter-in-law Jimmi Shiers; his grandchildren, Rob Anderson, Melissa Coburn (John), Dustin Shiers (Kay), Adam Shiers, Corey Shiers (Blanca), Trevor Shiers, Ethan Shiers, Brent Eckman (Sammie) and Brittny Eckman (Jeremy); his siblings, Butch (Linda), Tim (Kathy) and MaryAnn; and his siblings-in-law, Janet Shiers, Terry Margheim (Laura) and Loren Margheim. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and many more family members.

He received excellent care here until his death when he lost his battle with Parkinson's disease.
