He was predeceased by: his parents, John Schaneman and Clara Schaneman (Stricker); and his grandson Jackson Thomas Brass. He is survived by: his wife Barbara Kay Durfee; his daughters, Jill Richards (Scott) of Overland Park, KS, Andrea Lang (August) of Ashland, NE and Lisa Brass (Anthony) of Gothenburg, NE.; his grandchildren, Carsen Richards, McCoy Brass, Decker Richards and Boston Brass; and his brothers, Jim Schaneman (Diane) and Marvin Schaneman (Jane). He is also survived by his children and grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Friday, January 10th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Dugan Kramer Funeral Chapel (3201 Ave. B, Scottsbluff, NE 69361). A memorial service was held on Saturday, January 11th 2025 at 10:30 AM at the Salem Congregational Church (2001 7th Ave, Scottsbluff, NE 69361).
