It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Caleb Johnn Payne (Scottsbluff, Nebraska), born in Lodgepole, Nebraska, who passed away on April 8, 2023, at the age of 93, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, James David Payne and Gertrude Swartze Folkerts Payne; his daughter Susie; and his siblings, Mary Lou Hunt, Viola Synove and Kenneth Payne.
He is survived by: his wife Wanda Payne (Lenz); and his children, Jim Payne (Deb), Mark Payne (Lori) and Brenda Jennings (Steve). He is also survived by 5 grandchildren, and 8 great grand children, and 1 great great grandson.
Caleb and Wanda have been members of Calvary Lutheran Church for over 50 years, and Caleb donated his time whenever needed. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to Calvary Lutheran Church, 17 E 27th St., Scottsbluff, NE, 69361.
