With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Elwood Vogel (Salem, Nebraska), born in Bridgeport, Nebraska, who passed away on July 6, 2019 at the age of 87. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Jacob Vogel and Millie Vogel; his wife Bettie J. Vogel (Relka); his grandson Adam C. Schlaepfer; his siblings, Benita, Dorothy, Helen, Edward, Leonard, Donald and Delbert; and his siblings-in-law, Elmer Eskam, Albert Becking, Bill Turpin, Shorty Jines, Harry Henkel, Robert Steinmark, Walter Relka, Ted Relka, Edward Strecker, Mary, Delores, Phyllis, Darline Vogel, Irene Strecker, Gloria Relka and JoAnn Relka.
He is survived by: his former wife Bettie J. Relka; his daughter Debra K. Brunner (Ty Acton); his grandson Kaleb M. Brunner of Mitchell; his sisters, Nadine Schledewitz (Wilbert) of Gering and Jurene Turpin; his sister-in-law Helen Steinmark of Scottsbluff; and his brothers, Richard of Beatrice, Robert (Shirley) of Alliance and Howard (Shirley) of Gering. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
The family respectfully requests that in lieu of flowers, memorials be made to Shriners or Salem Congregational Church.
