He was predeceased by: his parents, Richard Spilinek and Hilda Spilinek (Safarik); his sister Elaine Ross; and his son-in-law Mark Stenka. He is survived by: his wife Juliann Nielsen (Julie); and his children, Tami Stenka, Ed Spilinek, Lisa Follmer (John), Russ Spilinek (Missy), Jason Spilinek (Tonya) and Amelia Matt.
