He was predeceased by: his parents, Pete Petersen and Helene Petersen (Christensen); his sister Aletha; his son Clay Petersen; and his siblings, Virgil, Glendora, Beverly, Marvelyn and Delane.
He is survived by: his children, Brad Petersen of Grand Island and Jackie; his children-in-law, Jim Gawrych of St. Paul and Trish Petersen of Phillips; his grandchildren, Marcia Lemburg, Connie Brewster (Matt), Crystal Petersen (Wayde), Desi Lackmann, Lance Petersen, Alexis Petersen (Raphael), Devin Petersen (Ashley) and Cole Petersen (Hannah); his great grandchildren, Gwennie, Maddie, Georgia, Jamison and Kyson; his brother Leland; and his siblings-in-law, Linda Petersen of Stromsburg and Leon Piepho of Lincoln. He is also survived by his kids, grandkids, and great grandkids.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the family for later designation.
