He was predeceased by: his parents, Emil Obermiller and Anna Obermiller (Hagman); his wives, Bonnie Gillette and Shirley Arnold; and his siblings, Emil, Delvin, Gailord, Don, Jim, Paul Obermiller and Darlene Ellenstine.
He is survived by: his former wife Betty Bottom; his close friend Donna Howard of Michigan; his children, Jay (Karen Obermiller), Jeff Obermiller of Colorado, Mike Obermiller of Oklahoma, Cynthia Miller of New Mexico and Cathie Robbins of Oregon; his stepson-in-law Curtis Peteet of Crete, Nebraska; his brother Larry; his sister-in-law Arlene Obermiller of Grand Island; and his sisters, Connie (Daryl Anderson) and Shirley Stutzman of Cairo. He is also survived by thirteen grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren, nephews and nieces.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the family for later designation.
