He was predeceased by: his parents, Fred W Swanson and Esther M. Swanson (Nielsen); his siblings, Kenneth Swanson and Lana Swanson; his brother-in-law Lyle Rasmussen; and his grandparents, Harvey, Maude Swanson, Jens and Bertha Nielsen.
He is survived by: his wife Leona Swanson of St. Paul; his sons, Martin William Swanson (Rhonda L. Puckett) and Marv Anthony Swanson (Amy Swanson) of Exeter; his grandchildren, William Swanson, Olivea Swanson and Ryan Sharp; and his siblings, Ronald (Elaine Swanson), Bill Swanson and Linda (Mel Fuller). He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers and plants, memorials are suggested to the St. Paul Fire Department and EMT's.
