He was predeceased by: his parents, Albert Schmaljohn and Elda Schmaljohn (Lorenz); his brother Russell Schmaljohn; and his brother-in-law Bill O'Mara. He is survived by: his wife Marilyn Schmaljohn of St. Paul, NE; his children, Tenise Jarecke (Ryan) of Burwell, NE, Jenae Belmas (Boyd) of Wausau, WI, Jeramy Schmaljohn of Omaha, NE and Tammy Pinckney (Kelly) of Burwell, NE; his grandchildren, Trystan (Rylee Jarecke), Olin (Nils Belmas), Jacob, Hannah, Nicholas (Michael Schmaljohn) and Holden (Evyn Pinckney); his siblings, Karen O'Mara, Susan Haeker (Dean) and Alan Schmaljohn (Amy); his sister-in-law Suzanne Schmaljohn; and also Geno.
