With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Marilyn Ann Placke of Saint Libory, Nebraska, who passed away on December 8, 2024 at the age of 92. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Anton J. Matousek and Anna E. Matousek (Nosal); her husband Bill; her children-in-law, Dan Gauthier and Patricia Placke; her grandchildren, Lisa Garrett and Grant Placke; her sister Charlotte (Bud Miller); and her siblings-in-law, Jim Hirschman, Virginia Placke, Bert (Ramona Placke), Dot (Lawrence Jacobsen) and Bill Retzlaff.
She is survived by: her brother-in-law Deacon Don Placke (Jan Placke); her children, Joanie Gauthier (Jerry Dixon), Jerry (Melissa Placke), Shelli (Bill Garrett), Gene (Kay Placke), Rod (Kim Placke), Dan (Leslie Placke) and Darin (Karen Placke); her grandchildren, Tiffanie, Joe Dowd, Ryan Mohler, Susan Moser, Shannon, Jamie Placke, Simon, Lisa Placke, Ben, Lacey Placke, Tony, Sarah Placke, Jennifer Negrete, Jon Smith, Vincent, Nicole Placke, Jeremy, Cori Garrett, Jason, Mary Garrett, Lindsay, Shane Van Pelt, Adam, Cassie Placke, Tim Paisley, Andrew, Fannye Placke, Melanie Placke, Cam Garrett, Staci, Erik Mrkvicka, Andrea, Matt Zulkoski, Angelena Smith, Dalton Placke, Tarra Janitschek, Thomas Cardwell, Shelby, Jesse Duncan, Haley, Troy Bainter, Kylee, Zach Legino, Briana Placke, Bishop Placke and Braxton Placke; her sister Virginia Hirschman of St. Paul; and her sister-in-law Marilyn Retzlaff of Doniphan. She is also survived by 45 great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Thursday, December 12th 2024 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the St. Libory's Catholic Church (505 Spruce St, St Libory, NE 68872). A rosary was held on Thursday, December 12th 2024 at 7:00 PM at the same location. A Mass of Christian burial was held on Friday, December 13th 2024 from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM at the same location. A burial was held on Friday, December 13th 2024 at 11:30 AM at the St. Libory's Catholic Cemetery (505 Spruce St, St Libory, NE 68872).
Memorials are suggested to the family for later designation.
