He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Russell and Mary Russell (Miller); and his grandson Danny. He is survived by: his wife Claudette Smith; and his children, Janet Billings of Kincaid, Kansas, Jack Russell of Maywood, Nebraska, Tom Russell of Trumbull and John Russell of Beulah, Colorado. He is also survived by 14 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; other relatives an friends.

No services are planned and memorials are suggested to the new Riverton Fire Hall or the Riverton Cemetery.
