He was predeceased by: his parents, Ben Schmidt and Berdena Schmidt (McNulty); his siblings, Stan and Cheryl; his sister-in-law Lynnette; his in-laws, Vernie and Joyce Nelssen; his brother-in-law Jeff Nelssen; and his niece Kelli.
He is survived by: his wife Judith Nelssen; his grandchildren, Nolan, Hayden, Emersyn, Quintin Lehmann, Ella, Ever, Lennox Clark, Redmen, Lady Red and Cornhusker of Nebraska; his brothers, Bennie Schmidt (Dayla) and Larry Schmidt (Kay); and his siblings-in-law, Linda Schmidt, Jim Nelssen (Stephanie), Janeen Hughes (Bob) and Traci Nelssen. He is also survived by his wife, daughters, and grandchildren.
The family requests memorial contributions in lieu of flowers.
