He was predeceased by: his parents, Anthony A. Topil and Helen E. Topil (Rech); his parents-in-law, Louis and Lillian Zegers; his son Edwin Topil; his siblings, Robert Topil, Marjorie Witulski (Lee) and Mary Ann Johnson (Ron); his siblings-in-law, Joe Zegers (Virginia), Vern Policky, Kenneth Cast and Kathy Zegers; and his nephews, Jon Topil, Dennis Policky, Gary Policky and Dan Zegers.
He is survived by: his wife Margaret Ann Zegers (Zegers); his children, Charles Topil (Susie), Catherine Terrana (Chris) and Valerie Brown (Gary) of Lakewood, CO; his brother Alfred Topil (Sharon) of Lincoln, NE; his siblings-in-law, Rose Topil of Lincoln, NE, Alice Policky of Seward, NE, Dolores Cast of Seward, NE, Louise Warnsholz (Roger) of Seward, NE, Thomas Zegers (Judy), William Zegers (Bev) and Schuyler; his grandchildren, Lucas, Oscar, Colton, Jacob Terrana, Jessie Brown (Kim), Keith Brown (Nikki), Karen Miller (Drew Morley), Jill Cornell (Jared), Travis Topil (Mataya) and Tyler Topil; and his great grandchildren, Elizabeth, Alexis Miller, Hank, Dean Cornell and Grant Topil. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Sunday, March 16th 2025 from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM and on Monday, March 17th 2025 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church (210 S Walnut St, Shelby, NE 68662). A rosary was held on Sunday, March 16th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the same location. A Mass was held on Monday, March 17th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the same location.
