With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Lloyd R. Monthey of Republican City, Nebraska, who passed away on February 6, 2025 at the age of 84. He was predeceased by: his parents, Leo Monthey and Lena Monthey (Miller); his wife Sandra "Jo" Silkett; his siblings, Ardella Diener (Earl) and LeMoyne Monthey; and his sister-in-law Donna Owings (Jack).
He is survived by: his children, Scott Monthey (Stephanie) of Holdrege, Shane Monthey (Michelle Hamaker) of Overton and Stephanie Holt (Ryan) of Holdrege; his grandchildren, Shelby Holmes (Blade), Grace Goodwin (Kyle), Riley Monthey, Chelsey Monthey, Katie Cunningham, Megan Monthey, Shanay Monthey, Michael McConnell, Brandie McConnell, Celeena Pedersen (Kyle), Clayton Holt (Jordin) and Carson Holt; and his brothers, Gerald Wagnitz and Ron Wagnitz. He is also survived by 24 great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, extended relatives and close friends.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, February 12th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Craig Funeral Home (336 N Nebraska Ave, Minden, NE 68959). A memorial service was held on Thursday, February 13th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Minden United Methodist Church (340 N Newell Ave, Minden, NE 68959).
