In the hush of twilight, as the stars twinkle in silent homage, we reflect on the legacy Wayne leaves behind and his impact on the lives of his loved ones. Though Wayne may no longer walk among us, his spirit lives on in the memories held dear by his family and friends, a guiding light that illuminates their paths in times of darkness.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Walter Gerlach and Lena Gerlach (Harvese); his wife Ardis Frey; and his siblings, Marvin and Lorraine.

He is survived by: his children, Dennis (Lisa) of Chandler, Arizona, Myron (Annette) of Waverly and Carolyn Wagner (Art) of Pleasant Dale, Nebraska; and his great grandchild Leroy Gerlach of Brainard.

A funeral service was held on Saturday, February 1st 2025 at 10:30 AM at the Calvary Lutheran Church (2013 Rosemont Rd, Blue Hill, NE 68930). A burial was held on Saturday, February 1st 2025 at 11:50 AM at the Blue Hill Cemetery.

“Condolences to the Gerlach family. We thoroughly enjoyed visiting with Wayne. He lived a wonderful long life and was blessed with three wonderful children to carry on his legacy. Stacy and I visited about Ardis and Wayne and their love of dancing. We can see Ardis and Wayne and Leona (my mom) and Neil Frey dancing to the Mark Vyhlidal Orchestra in heaven. Rest in peace, but polka on!!!”
