With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Roy Vap of Red Cloud, Nebraska, born in Hastings, Nebraska, who passed away on April 21, 2021 at the age of 69. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Theresa Vap (Bursovsky) and Melvin Vap; and his brother Larry Vap. He is survived by: his wife Cheryl Mays of Red Cloud; his children, Mistie Day (Mitch) of Post, Texas, Torrey Vap (Erika) of Riverview and Jeff Vap (Ashlee) of Aurora, Nebraska; and his sisters, Jean Ritchie of Hebron and Debbie Eickmann of Edgar, Nebraska.

“I am in shock. I've lost a great friend from my youth. Roy was a grade behind me but had a speech class together at SCHS. He always got the better of the teacher by getting him off the subject matter. Roy was very special to me at school. I am glad to see that he served our country as I did, US NAVY 1975-1995.
