He was predeceased by: his parents, Merle McKinley and Eva Gertrude Sears (Hutson); his wife Burneal Theora Schrader; and his siblings, Vada, Enid, Joice, Leeta, Bertha, Glen, Merle, Paul and Cleo.

He is survived by: his son Paul Sears (Joyce) of Ravenna; his grandchildren, Tracy Roberts (Matt) of Kearney, Tammy Scofield (Gregg) of Ravenna Sonya and Dustin Sears (Sara) of Cedar Rapids, NE; and his siblings, Melba Lester of Beloit, KS and Keith Sears (Betty) of Smith Center, KS.. He is also survived by ten great-grandchildren.
