He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Paul Andrew and Rose Schurman Sr. (Marx); his children, Mary Lou Coenen of Randolph, Kary Lurz (Dave) of Verdigre, Barb Korth (Doug) of Randolph, Steve Schurman of Randolph, Roger Schurman (Linda) of Firth, NE, Randy Schurman (Lisa) of Coleridge and Chuck Schurman (Karen) of Wynot; his brothers, Norman Schurman and Larry Schurman of Yankton, SD; his siblings-in-law, Joyce Schurman of Yankton, SD, Marlene Eskens of Coleridge, Rita Wieseler (Marvin) of Wynot and Bill Eskens of Jefferson City, MO.; his wife Mary Ann; his siblings, Wilfred Schurman, Jim Schurman, Dolores and Romaine; and also, Mark Coenen, Tim Lurz, Anthony Lurz, Chris Korth, Cameron Korth, Ryan Schurman, Tyler Schurman, Colby Promes, Eric Schurman, Colin Schurman, Melissa Grubb, Michelle Coenen, Cassandra Huff, Tabitha Willan, Catrina Winkelbauer, Angela Lange, Katie Jones, Holly Schurman and Camela Rathje. He was also cherished by 17 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren.
