She was predeceased by: her parents, Ernest B. Gerler and Paula J. Gerler (Braeuner); and her brother Gerald Gerler. She is survived by: her husband Elvin Thies; her children, Kelly (Mike Petersen) of Valentine, NE, Keri (Randy Schnell) of Columbus, NE and Brian Thies of Sidney, NE; her grandchildren, Brandon (Angie Petersen), Brenda (Shane Hamilton), Ryan Schnell, Kylie Schnell, Alaina Thies, Jenna Thies, Jaslyn Thies and Kaicee Thies; and her great grandchildren, Madalyn Petersen, Mason Hamilton and Carson Hamilton. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

During this pandemic, her telephone was her lifeline.
