Family and friends must say goodbye to their beloved Philip Frederick Knerl of Ponca, Nebraska, who passed away at the age of 96, on March 18, 2024. He was predeceased by: his parents, Orin N. Knerl and Bonnie Knerl (Davey); his siblings, Jack (Betty), Jerry (Margaret), Bob (Norma), Bonnie Beth and Mary Ann Wente (Tom); his great grandchild Erin Allyn Knerl; and his son-in-law Rich McCormick.
He is survived by: his grandson Col. Dan Knerl (Paige) of Eglin, AFB; his children, Dr. Andrew Knerl (Dana), Chris Knerl (Sarah) of Whitney Point, NY, Ryan Knerl (Veronica), Greg Knerl (Brittany), Maggie McCormick (Morgan Ashford) and Kellie Corcoran (Brenan); and his sister JoEllen Treinen (Bill) of Sioux City. He is also survived by five great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, Phil has asked that donations be made to the South Creek Calvary Cemetery Association or the Ponca Educational Foundation.
