She was loved and cherished by many people including: her children, Ann Thornton and Jason Richards; her mother Patricia Bremer of Akron, IA; her grandchildren, Christopher Thornton of Saint George, UT, Reece Thornton of Saint George, UT, Alec Thornton of Alamo, NV, Dillon, Marisa Vander Feen of Sioux Falls, SD, Madeline Vander Feen of Des Moines, IA, Jake Vander Feen of Sioux Falls and Hannah Vander Feen of Sioux Falls; her husband Kenneth Richards of Brunsville; her father Ervin Bushman; her brothers, Bob and Jim Bushman; and her mother-in-law Mary Jones.
Her dedication to learning was paralleled by her lifelong contributions to various organizations, such as the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA) and the South Dakota Health Information Management Association (SDHIMA).
