He was predeceased by: his parents, Max Carnell and Frances "Franny" Carnell (Crofoot); his brother Denny Carnell; his brothers-in-law, Curt Neill, Jim, John and Terry Nelson; and his nephews, Ryan Carnell and Kurt Dinges.
He is survived by: his wife Karla Nelson; his siblings, Terri Lamprecht (Jim), Diane Neill, Chuck Carnell (Rhonda), Lynette O'Dell (Donnie), Roger Carnell (Paula) and Tyler Carnell (Ann); and his sisters-in-law, Nikki Carnell, Mary Bartling (Slim), Patti Dinges (Ken) and Judi Dinges (Jim). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
