He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Lee and Evelyn Hays (Stokes); his wife Linda Lou Ebke; his son-in-law Chad Ziemann; his grandson Richard Barta; and his brother-in-law Sherolyn Hobson (Jerry).
He is survived by: his children, Mark Hays (Tamie) of DeWitt and Angela Ziemann (Robert Bonin) of Plymouth; and his grandchildren, Holly Barta (Jeff Stewart), Kylie Widhelm (Joe), Bethany Trammell (Taylor), Taylor Ziemann (Charlie Thayer) and Travis Ziemann (Renae). He is also survived by seven great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established to the family's choice.
