Roger Lee Stutzman Obituary
Roger Lee Stutzman, age 67 of Plattsmouth, NE unexpectedly passed away on Sunday, December 31, 2023 in the comfort of his own home.
Roger was born on October 22, 1956 to Eldon Norval Stutzman and Hazel Phyllis (Sehnert) Stutzman in Crete, NE. He was raised on a farm outside of Crete, NE. Roger graduated from Crete High School with the class of 1974. After graduating high school, he spent his time farming and working at Alpo, Farmland, and Molex where he learned the hands-on skills to fix just about anything. Eventually his love of working with his hands led him to a career as a journeyman plumber with the union in Omaha, NE. Roger worked for both the Steamfitters & Plumbers Local Union #464 and Plumbers Local Union #16 where he later retired from in 2022. He made his home in Lincoln and Bellevue until 2015 when he finally bought his beloved lake house, a lifelong dream of his.
Roger was known for being able to fix “anything”. He was no doubt the first person that family, friends and neighbors called when they needed anything fixed or built. He lived life to the fullest and was known to push life's limits. He fiercely loved his family and could not get enough of watching his four grandchildren run and play. Roger loved being outdoors, and was not afraid of hard work, the dirtier the better. He loved to “shoot the shit” and was known to talk for hours if you let him. Most will remember him for; his love of his vegetable garden, taking apart and fixing anything, summer softball, street dances, fishing, and just kicking back and watching a good football game.
Roger is survived by two daughters: Samantha Holloway and her husband Nolan of Bellevue, NE, and Jessica Stone and her husband Wendell of Bennet, NE; four grandchildren: Hudson Stone, Eloise Holloway, Hazel Stone, and Cora Holloway; three brothers: Steve Stutzman and his wife Betty of Lincoln, NE, Ronnie Stutzman of Bellevue, NE, and Billy Stutzman and his wife Brenda of Lincoln. NE; and his sister: Betty Barney of Lincoln, NE; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents: Eldon and Hazel Stutzman, his sister: Marilyn Worley, and his grandson: Henry Stone.
A Private Family Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
