He was predeceased by: his parents, Willis Carstens and Mildred Carstens (Jergens); his wife Judy Carstens; his son Skip Martin; his grandson Clint; and his siblings, Melvin Carstens, Gene Carstens, Merle Carstens, Ken Carstens and Marjorie Seffron.
He is survived by: his children, Gina Bennett (Adam Chambers) of Glenwood, IA, Steve Martin of Omaha, NE and Roger Carstens, Jr. of Florida; his grandchildren, Brittney McCarthy (Stephen), Brandi Bennett (Alex Geisler), Joey, Amber, Christopher Martin, Felicia Martin, Victoria, John, Alicia Carstens, Isabelle and Elizabeth Carstens; his great grandchildren, Stephen and Rory McCarthy; his siblings, Deloris Wiese of Omaha, NE and Donnie Carstens (Bernice) of Lincoln, NE; and also, Reggie and Steve "Okie" Bennett. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
