He was predeceased by: his parents, Herman Schlote and Gladys Schlote (Heese); his parents-in-law, Norman and Helen Kumm; his brother Wes Schlote; and his siblings-in-law, Roger Buss, Mike Clausen, Alan Kumm, Deb Clausen, Carol Kumm and Paula Schlote.
He is survived by: his son Aaron; his wife Nancy Schlote of Osmond; his children, Don, Alisa Brunsing, Amber Schlote, John and Kimberly Chilvers; his grandchildren, Meghan, Madison, Jaxson Brunsing, Avery, Reese Schlote, Cale, Lanny and Sofie Chilvers; his siblings, Keith (Bonnie Schlote), Doug (Dona Thies), Dale (Tammy Schlote) and Dean (Nancy Schlote); and his brother-in-law Paul Kumm.
In lieu of flowers, memorials made be made to Zion Lutheran Church and School or Lutheran Hour Ministries.
