It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Bernitha Gemelke (Pilger, Nebraska), who passed away on June 1, 2018, at the age of 95, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Edward Hasenkamp and Beata Hasenkamp; her husband Emil; her son Ronnie; her brother Merlin Hasenkamp; her sons-in-law, Kevin Meyer, Dale Topp, Palma Hasenkamp, Calvin Reuter, Herb Gemelke (Margaret), Gertrude Vollmer (Floyd), Wilhelma Kemper (Ivan), Viola Brueggeman, Anita Reimnitz (George) and Mildred Janulewicz (Leo); and also, Ernst Gemelke and Louisa Gemelke (Koehlmoos).
She is survived by: her son Duane Gemelke of Brooklyn Park; her wife Linda Gemelke of Brooklyn Park; her daughter LaRayne Topp of Wisner; her grandchildren, Kristine Hanson (Steve) of Las Cruces, Trish Lombard (Bill) of Inwood, Brenda Breitkreutz (Harold) of Wisner, Michael Gemelke (Emily Strother) of Portland, Clinton Meyer (Hillary) of Indianola and Nathan Gemelke (Edina Sarajlic) of State College; her stepgranddaughters, Trisha Johnson of Arlee and Tracy Topp (Matthew Marsolek) of Arlee; her siblings, Luetta Reuter of Norfolk and Wilfred Hasenkamp of Stanton; and her siblings-in-law, Joan Hasenkamp of West Point and Bob Brueggeman of Norfolk. She is also survived by 11 great-grandchildren; 5 step-great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson.
