She was predeceased by: her parents, Julius Hoffmann and Anna Hoffmann; her former husband Walter Dudley James Jr.; her siblings, Frederick, Aloysius, Johanna, Amelia, Julius (Jute), Gregory and Clemens Hoffmann; and her grandson Christopher Rudloff.
She is survived by: her sister Agnes Hoffmann Schleppenbach; her children, Mary Ann Sexton (Mike), Aggie Albanese (Mark), Liz Joyce (Kevin), Carol James (Richard Sparling), Walter Dudley James III, Vincent James, Joe James (Shaun), Cecilia Rudloff (Jim), Paul James (Maria) and John James (Tracy); her daughters-in-law, Carole Andersen and Elke James; her grandchildren, Paul Sexton (Shana), Bridget Downey (Brian), Dakota Sexton, Anne-Marie Lerner (Dan), Lisa Albanese, Amy Bittrich (Dave), Mark Albanese (Heidi), Michael Joyce (Kim), Sean Joyce Whipp (Tara), Claire Sparling (Alexandre Borger), Adrien Sparling, Lucas Sparling, Taylor James, Delaney James, Alexandra James, Sabrina James, Dan James (Jac), Alex James, Katie James, Justin Rudloff (Annie), Abby Rudloff-Royer (Zach Royer), Joel Rudloff (Kate), Patrick James (Kelly), Christine Dickerson (Kyle), Catherine James, Ben James, Rachel James, Matthew James and Peter James; and her husband Walt. She is also survived by 23 great-grandchildren.
