She was predeceased by: her parents, Hubert Rathe and Teda Rathe (Baehr); her parents-in-law, George and Louise Carstens; her niece Suzanne Miller; her nephew Jason Goesch; and her brothers-in-law, Jack Chloupek and Greg Thompson.
She is survived by: her husband Gary Carstens of Pickrell; her sons, Scott Carstens (Karla) of Pickrell, Jamie Carstens (Tammi) of Beatrice and Todd Carstens of Denver, CO; her grandchildren, Jayde Marsh (Jared), Jarrett Carstens, Sydney Carstens, Landon Carstens and Delaney Carstens; her sisters, Joan Barnes (Lynn) of Castle Rock, CO, Karen Chloupek of Lincoln and Barb Thompson of Castle Rock, CO; and her sisters-in-law, Joyce Bernard (Bob) of Blue Springs, MO and Janice Goesch (Ed) of Vermillion, SD. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established to the family for future designation with Robert and Joyce Harms in charge.
