It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Gary Lee Carstens of Pickrell, Nebraska, who passed away on March 31, 2025, at the age of 80, leaving to mourn family and friends. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Gary Lee Carstens to pay them a last tribute.
He was predeceased by: his parents, George Carstens and Louise Carstens (Busboom); his wife Judy Rathe Carstens; his parents-in-law, Hubert and Teda Rathe (Baehr); his brothers-in-law, Jack Chloupek and Greg Thompson; his nephew Jason Goesch; and his niece Suzanne Miller.
He is survived by: his sons, Scott (Adrienne) of Pickrell, Jamie (Tammi) of Beatrice and Todd of Denver, Colorado; his sisters, Joyce Bernard (Bob) of Beatrice and Janice Goesch (Ed) of Vermillion; his grandchildren, Jayde Marsh (Jared) of Hebron, Jarrett Carstens of Fort Worth Texas, Sydney Carstens (Matt) of Altoona, Landon Carstens of Pickrell and Delaney Carstens of Lincoln; his great grandchild Brooks Marsh; and his sisters-in-law, Joan Barnes (Lynn) of Castle Rock, Karen Chloupek of Lincoln and Barb Thompson of Castle Rock. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Thursday, April 3rd 2025 from 10:00 AM to 8:00 PM at the Fox Funeral Home & Cremation Services. A prayer was held on Friday, April 4th 2025 at 10:15 AM at the Zion Lutheran Church (18219 S 80th Rd, Pickrell, NE 68422). A funeral service was held on Friday, April 4th 2025 at 10:30 AM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established to the family for future designation with Robert and Joyce Harms and Oran and Judy Obering in charge.
