He was predeceased by: his parents, Renken Zimmerman and Friederika "Reka" Zimmerman (Rosenthal); his wife Marilyn Gronewold; his son Rodney; his son-in-law Jimmie Fossler; and his siblings, Arthur Zimmerman (Evelyn), Minnie Wolken, Emma Riensche Dorn, Edith Jobman (Bill) and Dorothy Busboom (Jerry).
He is survived by: his daughters, Rose Fossler of Beatrice and Rhonda Fossler (Dennis) of Beatrice; his grandchildren, Brian Fossler (Angie), Roger Fossler (Jennifer), Bruce Fossler (Tracie), Matt Fossler (Kelsey) and Heather Hippen (Justin); and his brother Clarence Zimmerman. He is also survived by six great-grandchildren.
